hello from the french riviera! it has been quite a while since you have heard from our ankle of the woods, and i thought a HELLO was long overdue
along our much needed break (hiatus) from the interstate: we have found at some point one needs to introduce a bit of normalcy into one's life... to all of the wonderful genuine folks we have met along the way we owe a sincere Thank You
our plans for the future of Jonezetta are yet to be determined
We recently jumped on tour with our good friends Shiny Toy Guns. After making a couple routine stops in the Pacific NW (we love Portland), we made our way over to we've come to know as the state of Idaho. Boise is a great stop, but isn't in our itinerary this journey around the country. Not to worry, Idaho decided to offer us a pleasant surprise with the fourth-largest city in the state, and I can't fail to mention, a city that made it against the law to "look sad." Luckily, sad was the last thing we felt during our stint in Pocatello. Next door to the brand new venue, The Icon, we had the privilege to join the locals at their favorite roadhouse in town, the "Hi-Ho." This became the venue for the video below, and for my viewing of the Presidential debates that took place in Oxford, MS last night. Across the street, we found a gem of a pawn shop as well. We ended up selling most of our gear and purchased semi-automatic handguns, except Alex bought a super nintendo and some subs. Until next time, enjoy these videos while we here in Jonezetta question John McCain's "proposed" age and discuss our excitement about Oliver Stone's new movie "W".
Meg & Dia, check. Great band, great people, great tour, thanks Meg, Dia, Carlo, Jon, and Nick! We love you. Thanks for all that came out.
We start our tour with Straylight Run tomorrow in Baltimore, MD. We've been looking forward to this tour awhile, should be one for the books.
We're here in Akron, we played at Musica tonight (we love this place. thanks sound guy jim). Tyler, Ty, and I were trying to figure out what every state's nickname is. This, as well as a number of other spellbinding games, is just one way we like to pass time on the road.
Mississippi = The "Hospitality" State
Alabama = The "Yellow Hammer" State (can somebody explain this one?)
Montana = The "Treasure" State
Texas = The "Lone Star" State
Nevada = The "Silver" State
I could keep going. Next time we're in your state, you should quiz us, we'd be delighted to put our knowledge to the test. While you think of your state's nicknames, enjoy this little video:
